Woodstack 2 - Tune In, Tune Out, Turn Up!

We are getting close to Woodstack2 time! Do you all have your t-shirts ready? Peanut Butter sandwiches? How bout the old VW bus? Still rusted out behind the garage.. Thats all OK man.. We got t-shirts, Food, and ... OK no VW bus, but we will have cool boat rides out to the stack.. And what looks like will be a perfect mid October day... with perfect music and a great crowd taking it all in.. Tickets are on sale at the Reedville Fishermen's Museum, or pay a tad more and buy them at the gate..

Reedville's symbol of its rich menhaden fishing heritage The 130 foot tall stack was built circa 1902, The Stack has served as a navigational landmark for working watermen and boaters but also as a welcoming beacon to the historic town of Reedville and surrounding areas. The Stack was built by the Morris - Fisher Company to provide steam to power its fish processing operations. This Company was likely the largest and most efficient of all the factories at that time. The success of the company was demonstrated by the construction of this majestic stack.

Having withstood storms and fires the stack and years of neglect and the wear from Mother Nature. The Community and Omega Protein, Inc. have raised the funds needed and the stack is back now as an symbol celebrating the areas rich culture. Ownership of the stack and land will be transferred to the Greater Reedville Association.
